Black Rock Shooter ep.3, and something bad ass

Just wanted to let everyone know that Black Rock Shooter TV episode 3 is up on the torrents page. I know that updates have been pretty weak the last week but thats the way that life sometimes rolls. I do have some miniature updates for the Alpha Legion project but i currently lack the camera to take decent pics. Also got in a 500 pt game against anime-x’s Orcs… or orks.. or however its spelled in the grim dark… game was a draw. no pics because nothing was painted but i could do a battle report about it.

Speaking of Anime-X he did just come back from Cali from a Volks Doll meet which he could write up something about, or post pics.

Finally i’m sure people are out there in the world being bad ass… like this guy…

Oh hay, look at that… i made enough links to count this as a post… this calls for an appropriate photo…

Torrents page added

Decided that i would help out everyone and make it really simple. We now have a nifty torrents page that i will simply link all the torrents that we will be hosting. That way all 5 of you who come to our site can have easy access to what you really want (anime) and not the useless filler (me babbling on about shit you don’t care about)

If there is a particular anime series that you think we need to let everyone know about, drop a message below.

Black Rock Shooter ep.2

And now the second episode of Black Rock Shooter is online.  Wow is Chariot a crazy moe hating bitch.  (thats the girl in the wheelchair if you couldn’t tell which one was insane).  With that said, i am still very impressed with the story, and the visuals.  In addition, because its such a short series, there is no filler. The show sticks to the plot and keeps moving.

i think i’m going to start hosting torrents for series that i like so keep an eye out for a torrent page for all of your anime viewing pleasure.  For now, Shonen Vegas once again provides:

Black Rock Shooter Episode 2

and in case you missed the first post, here’s a link to that so you can grab episode 1 as well

Black Rock Shooter TV…. is actually very good

First things first. I will here and now admit that i was not pleased at the artstyle change from the Black Rock Shooter (from this point i will simply call it “BRS”) OVA (movie) to the cuter style that the TV show has.

Next, now that i have watched the first episode, i will let you know that this in no way makes the TV show worse.

Ok, moving on. I won’t go into a review of the show, just go watch it. I will however give people who don’t know what BRS is a bit of a primer.

First off, BRS has nothing to do with Vocaloid. So wipe any comparisons from your mind.

Next, the story is a slice of life/school drama about a girl and her alter ego in a separate world. What is interesting to me is that there is no indication that either world knows that the other exists. There is a direct relation in regards to what happens in one world mirrors what happens in the other, and the show flips back and forth as you watch what happens in the normal world(in the form of a school drama), then watch in a sense the same story in the BRS world (in the form of a very violent and dark action setting).

And finally for all 3 of my readers… i will even provide you with the torrent to go get it.  because thats just the kind of nice guy i am.

Anime Nights in Las Vegas

Writer is not amused... wait, yes he isLas Vegas has kind of a bad reputation in the Anime Community.  First there was the failed Vegas Comic-con… what?  Never heard of it?  Exactly.  Next is Anime Vegas, which while it had potential, has in later years fallen a bit, and generated a bit of a reputation as a glorified day care of pre-teens screaming about in poor japanese.  I will not even dignify Supercon, or any of the other upstart attempts.

All in all, it has left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth and a cynical attitude.

So it is with a bit of Cautious Optimism that i’m going to link this here.

Shonen Vegas in conjunction with multiple other groups are working to bring a bit of the Anime for a strangely under represented part of the Community… adults.

For start Anime Nights is a 21+ event.  We are 100% serious.  Anyone who has hung out with us knows that Shonen Vegas Rule #2 is: We Card, and this is one of the primary reasons we are throwing in our support with this event.  Leave your kids at home, this is not a day care, and honestly we don’t particularly care if this excludes a large chunk of the community.

Secondly, i want to say that this is not an “Adult” event.  We are not going to be showing porn every week.  Don’t show up expecting a drunken party.  This event is for the older anime crowd.  People who don’t want to hang out with teens, but still enjoy the social side of things, can have a drink responsibly (this is vegas, i didn’t say there would be no drinking) and just want to spend a few hours hanging out with like minded people in a chill relax atmosphere… with some kick ass anime playing in the background.  There will be a mix of whats new, with some old school favorites thrown in.

The First event is looking to happen on Feb 17th, 7pm at: 520 Fremont Street, 2nd Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89101

Hope to see you there.
